About Rachel
An unconventional path to sensemaking
Why I Do This
I spent nearly 15 years in top tier consulting, mostly in forensic accounting navigating complex financial situations across very different businesses. I learned a huge amount and worked on fascinating, high-stakes projects.
But I realised what I loved most was the on-the-ground work: solving real problems for clients, translating between teams who weren't communicating, making complex topics accessible. And I wanted to do that work in a different model, one without the organisational layers and overhead that big firms require.
That's why I work with small teams and solopreneurs now. You get the expertise I built on complex projects, but in a lean, focused way that fits your reality.
I'm a translator and a bridge-builder. I've seen too many situations where legal, finance, and operations teams are all saying similar things in different languages—and no one realises it. I clarify those gaps and make complex topics accessible in plain language.
Before all that I was a researcher and the Cambridge PhD was the start of my sense making journey. Research trained me to understand complex systems with messy evidence, to make explicit assumptions (crucial in valuations and forecasts), and to think in the round. I'm a polymath. I don't want to be stuck in one topic. I love a "how can we do this?" question I can go away and solve.
